Barbecue Train

Barbecue Train is a functional sculpture, a barbecue posing as a classic locomotive engine.  Embers glow and the smoke stack belches as great food is prepared.  The Border Grill restaurant will use the Barbecue Train for grilling some special food sold in addition to other foods prepared in their adjacent food truck.

About Pentti Monkkonen

Pentti Monkkonen is an multi-media working primarily in sculpture. His work frequently excavates familiar forms and images that occur as manufactured multiples or valued cultural artifacts that he reconstitutes as expressive and unique objectives, somewhere between sculpture and functional artifact. He has recently had exhibitions at the Socrates Sculpture Park in Long Island City and at he the Uschi Kolb Gallery in Karlsruhe Germany. Pentti lives in Venice, California.
